The Start of a Blog

After much fussing and finagling, I can happily say welcome to the official Plant Witch Press website. It turns out web design is hard! Even harder than game design! And I'm still not done?? The look and feel of this little corner of the internet will likely change and develop over time as I learn to actually do web design.

I have aspirations for this blog that hopefully won't be too difficult for me to keep up with. I'm also planning on getting a monthly newsletter set up to let people know about new releases, but that is a whole other can of worms that I need to wrap my head around. For now, I'm going to try and get a blog post written and up once a week, with a rotating set of subjects:

New Content Announcements. This one is obvious and self-explanatory. As I'm working on new releases, I'll announce them and post sneak peeks and teasers for what's coming next.

Designer Diaries. These posts will focus on my process for coming up with ideas, and try to break down how I design the things I design, like heritages, spells, and magic items. I'll also go over the programs that I use, how to source stock art for your projects, and basic tutorials for layout. If you are a Level Up Narrator who wants to peek behind the curtain for your own homebrewing, or an aspiring third-party publisher for Level Up content, these posts will be for you.

Inspiration and Influences. It's no secret that I tend to wear my influences on my sleeve, but sometimes I find inspiration in unusual places, and maybe what inspires me can inspire you too! I'm a real big nerd, and every nerd loves to gush about their favorite books, films, and games. Who knows, maybe you'll find something cool to check out on your own, and also learn a little bit about the witch behind the plants while you're at it.

Recipes. I don't just play a kitchen witch on TV, I'm one in real life too! I'll post a recipe here and there, because cooking is its own kind of magic.
